Dear Reader, if you’re reading this, I just found what jm was writing about… he said he wrote an ep called the delta ep and that would be a future calling card to change on earth… I think he is right… I just found it on their old bandcamp site. it’s wild… I feel like I’ve heard these songs before but I don’t know where… maybe somewhere in the future… they keep saying time travel is possible………fads.fad.sf;sa.;……. sorry. the connection is getting foggy… maybe I revealed too much already… anyway, I enclosed a copy of what I found… kc out!

I've been thinking a lot about The Oceanographers as it's been about three years since we've produced any new music. It's been so depressing that I've been questioning, what's the purpose of music? Why should The Oceanographers even exist? and here's what I've come up with...
In a world of shallow music, I desire to create music that simply goes deeper. Deeper in emotions, deeper in meaning, and deeper in story. I desire to create music that is embedded with wisdom and that has more purpose than anything else out there. As a band, we desire to make people feel hopeful for the future even when we don't have all the answers; a feeling that is necessary to have in this post-modern-information age. We desire to create music that makes people feel like they are not alone. We desire to connect people to their emotions again: joy, anguish, love, hope, fear, all of them in a beautiful catharsis of sound.
If you're into this. please consider taking the plunge with us...
I have about three more albums worth of material that I've been working on. If you're interested in more music from us, please let me know.

The Oceanographers is developing into a full-fledged worship ministry! We’re in the process of creating music that will help you and others share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people you care about. If you’re interested in helping this ministry get off the ground, please consider donating to this PayPal account, we need around $900 to start a non-profit on the mainland. A lot of things are developing. Thank you so much for your help!
Aloha,
Justin
The Oceanographers is a musical project with the on going mission to bridge the gap between science and faith. Two worlds that often seem at odds with each other are both so necessary in this time of division. The Oceanographers is a call for people who value science to be open to the miracles, spiritual, and unexplainable, and vise versa, a call for people who value faith to be open to taking care of the environment and listening to the evidence for climate change. As I’ve grown in my faith, I’ve found it disheartening that many Christians don’t find value in taking care of the earth and as I’ve grown in my respect for science, I find it very sad that people of science don’t see the overwhelming testimonies for the miracles God does in our lives. This project is meant to bridge this divide between these two viewpoints.

I believe we are the verge of something amazing. Never before has our species had access to so much information and connection to each other. If we can collaborate more and let go of our egos and our desire to dominate others we will see peace on earth. When we start providing for the needs of everyone regardless of race or class, we will know peace... we will see heaven on earth. This is the beginning of the Golden Age.
"At the brink of the golden age
All the information's in your hands
We don't know what to do with it
So we sit around without a plan
And I'm still fighting you
And you're still fighting over me
I'm still fighting you
Do we have to compete?
Teach me how to break away
Teach me how to break away with you
Cause I hate being a slave
I don't want to be a slave with you
And I'm still fighting you
And you're still fighting over me
I'm still fighting you
Do we have to compete?
Open the door, open the gate
To heaven, to heaven
Open the stars, open the love,
Of heaven, of heaven...
At the end of petro-age
Humanity came together to agree,
That there's no need for fights or war
When we all have everything that we need
I'm not fighting you, and you're not fighting over me
I'm not fighting you, we can live peace"
After any period of crisis, it is wise to take inventory of all that one has. On January 1st 2015 my car was stolen along with cell phones, wallets, and identity information. I feel just about out of the crisis, so I am taking inventory of what I have left as they pertain the two passions I have: MUSIC & DESIGN.
Guitars, PA systems, Speakers, Studio Mics, Oceanographers CDs, 1 Computer, 3 Hard Drives, and an education in Graphic Design.
...
After taking inventory of what I have I've realize that there is nothing to be worried about. I need to be thankful for all I have. Most of these things have been provided by my parents. A huge wave of gratitude and warmth sweeps over me. Even though there was nothing to prepare me for the trauma and effort it would take to leave the nest, they really left me with everything I needed to succeed. Thank you Mom and Dad.

Every time The Oceanographers has fallen apart, the more determined I was to have it succeed. 2014 was the "Year Everything Came Together"... 2015 is the “Year of Determination”. Goals will be set and plans will be put into action to achieve them. I am determined to become a successful musician/designer in the land of infinite art.
With this determination, I will be creating, testing, and documenting my process, ideas, and findings in this captain’s log on theoceanographers.com. My hope is that other artists will be able to find their own path at finding value in the world of cheap art.
